First Meeting 20/02/2013

On our second meeting we begun by running over issues for consideration irrespective what path we set upon.

- Potential for a physical space exhibition/pop up museum using content created from this project.
- Remotely acessable content via web/app
- Cross community/ educational applications and what implications/restrictions that could lead to.
- Scalability/Expansion and how tangible monetary returns could be improved.
- Integration with social media; facebook, twitter, googlemaps etc
- Tech potential; Augmented Reality, GPS, QR codes/Guided Tours - especially as mechanisms to make this data/service available in situe.

Existing Resources:

- http://walls400.com/ existing site specific to the city walls herritege project, 400 corresponds to anniversary of the walls but it has been mentioned that this is a hinderance as it tied to a specific date.
- http://www.derryswalls.com - currently used by the guildhall press but is being offered as a candidate URL for this project.
- Facebook group for walls400 - again is tied down to the 400 years date but because of it's facebook following could be used as a marketing/launch platform.
- Thorough data based built upon historical/anecdotal and contemporary sources.
- Hi Res 3d Scan Data of the City Walls from EU funded project - as this project is still ongoing - end user licenses have not been established and it is suggested that local projects would be given a head start before this data is made available to the public domain.

[Meeting One - Key points]

- To deliver an augmented view of the walls - what people overlook daily - historically
                                                                                                                       - anecdotal
- Potentially being able to reconstruct features/gates/bastions/moats as they used to look and superimposed on present day
-interactive 3d models/maps and pairing this with the contextual data

- Highlighting shared and specific community centric information.

- How we initially develop this project as a stand alone product/exhibition and how this could be used as a prototype/template for a scalable product that could be equally be re tasked for purpose.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Desired Project outcomes so far]

[1] Plan of action - Digital marketing options
                             - Product scalability tiers - options
                                                                       - cost
                                                                       - time
                                                                       - delivery medium/platform
 [2] Proof of concept
Given the sheer scale of the Walls and the allotted time frame it is neccesary to focus on a specific site Location and to create a working example of an interactive web based educational tool/exhibit.
Mark short listed 3 sites -  [1] Royal Bastion/Walkers Pillar
                                           [2] Bishops Gate
                                           [3] Double Bastion
